EkBiçYeİç is a sustainability-driven social enterprise that brings urban farming, local production, and organic nutrition practices into the heart of the city. It aims to grow its own food within urban life and integrate permaculture principles into a restaurant and social space ecosystem. My three-year tenure as a designer and production manager between 2019 and 2022 was an operation focused on transforming this visionary philosophy into functional, living systems through SolidWorks and Rhinoceros-based product development.
My role throughout this period encompassed end-to-end production management, spanning from the design of agricultural units (soilless farming and permaculture systems) and custom furniture to their final on-site installation. The backbone of the operation consisted of planning material procurement within budget and schedule parameters, bridging communication with external manufacturers through technical drawings, and conducting CNC/Nesting optimizations to minimize material waste. Every unit designed was more than just an object; they were functional systems proactively integrated into the space by calculating light, water, and human circulation.

The backbone of turning sustainable urban farming philosophy into engineering and technical product design. This pillar involves the structural modeling and optimization of precise systems hosting living organisms.
Soilless Agriculture: Modeling and executing Hydroponics and Aquaponics ecosystems using Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) and Ebb & Flow systems modeled within SolidWorks and Rhinoceros environments.
Permaculture Installations: Designing and developing raised beds, wicking beds, keyholes, vertical pyramid beds, and spiral gardens optimized for sustainable urban food production.
The intricate process of integrating food-producing units into the restaurant and social space ecosystem without compromising human scale, aesthetics, or logistics.
Microlocation & Placement: Proactive placement planning of agricultural units in interior and exterior zones based on critical parameters like lighting, plumbing access, and foot traffic.
Custom Furniture Design: Developing highly functional, durable furniture with an honest material palette for dining, social interaction, and propagation workspaces.
The heavy-lifting production engine that ensured digital models and concepts evolved into flawless, cost-effective, and highly optimized physical installations.
Production Planning & Procurement: Managing raw material supply chains, calculating bills of materials (BOM), and scheduling complex build phases.
Vendor Management: Bridging the gap between design and external fabricators (wood, metal, acrylic) through high-precision production drawings and quality control.
Nesting & CNC Optimization: Running software-based and manual nesting layouts on sheet materials to eliminate material waste, combined with hands-on on-site assembly coordination.
